Sam Raimi Just Might Be Doing the 'Doctor Strange' Sequel
It appears beloved director Sam Raimi may be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While nothing is confirmed just yet, reports are swirling that Raimi will be taking over for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

According to Variety, Raimi is currently in talks to take over the troubled Doctor Strange sequel, whose original director Scott Derrickson bailed on the project over creative differences.

So far, though, Marvel has made no comment, so nothing is official yet. However, if Raimi does return, it would mark the first time the director would be in the MCU since his Spider-Man trilogy wrapped back in 2007.

Raimi, of course, is perhaps best known as the creative force behind the beloved horror franchise Evil Dead.

Benedict Cumberbatch has already confirmed his return in the starring role for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, though Rachel McAdams will not return for the sequel.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to open on May 7, 2021.
