As fans all know, there has been some serious backlash over the film's CGI hybrid version of Sonic, with many blasting the character for his creepily human teeth. It got so bad, in fact, that director Jeff Fowler had promised to fix the character before the movie's release, but it turns out that comes at a cost.
This morning, Fowler tweeted that Paramount has moved the Sonic the Hedgehog release date from November 8 to February 14. So yes, this means that the film will now not arrive until 2020.
ICYMI, you can watch the trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog down below and see those film-delaying teeth for yourself.
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear... you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be... #sonicmovie #gottafixfast 🔧✌️— Jeff Fowler (@fowltown) May 2, 2019
