Published Dec 30, 2019The end of the decade offers a perfect time for us to reflect on where we are at as a collective species, and that can certainly be well-reflected in our pop culture choices. Depending on where you stand regarding blonde-haired, blue-eyed white guys, it was either a fantastic decade or a terrible one.
Billboard has tallied up the top songs of the 2010s, and it's a truly fascinating collection of data. For example, the rock category was literally dominated by Imagine Dragons, with the Vegas-bred floor-tom hitters clinching the top three spots on the charts.

Of course, everyone knows that rock music was in danger throughout the decade so the Dragons' disruption should come as no surprise. What is more surprising is the supremely vanilla choice we as a people all made for the top hip-hop song. Yes, Macklemore took the No. 1 spot of the decade with his ode to thrift shopping entitled "Thrift Shop":
Congratulations to Imagine Dragons and Macklemore for defining the decade in music!
