Justice Aren't Too Happy About Justin Bieber's 'Justice' Album Art
Suspiciously, Bieber's team was recently in touch with the French duo's graphic designer
Published Mar 03, 2021Justin Bieber recently announced his new album Justice, and ICYMI, the record comes with one hell of a bad cover. But not only is the cover art damn ugly, it's also extremely unoriginal, as Justice's cross-featuring font is offensively similar to one used by another Justice for nearly two decades.
Yes, you're not alone in thinking that the font for Bieber's Justice — which turns the "T" into a cross — is extremely similar to the one that the French electronic duo has used since 2003. And Justice's team isn't too happy about it.
When contacted by Spin about the font similarities, Justice's management offered the following:
Bieber's team emailed us in May of 2020, asking to be looped in with Justice's graphic designer to discuss a logo. We tried to set up a call between Bieber's team and our designer, but the call was never completed and the conversation ended there. No one ever mentioned an album called Justice or a logo that says 'Justice.' The first time we saw anything about it was the announcement.
Also, Pedro Winter — the boss of Justice's label Ed Banger — took to Instagram to roast Bieber over his artwork, writing: "Ed Banger records appoints Mr Justin Drew Bieber as Art Director. We would like to thank Mr So Me for all his work since 2003. with love (and lots of fun)."
Despite the extreme similarities and zero comment from Bieber's team about them, it does not appear Justice will be pursing any legal action against Justice. Or at least not yet.
Bieber's Justice is out March 19 via RBMG/Def Jam Recordings.
