New Radicals Will Reunite to Play "You Get What You Give" at the Biden Inauguration
Published Jan 18, 2021In times of great turmoil, economic and social insecurity and general anxiety, there's still someone somewhere constantly asking us to remember the '90s. In fact, the '90s kids will have their way with news that New Radicals are reuniting for the first time in 22 years to perform at Joe Biden's inauguration.
The incoming president — whose election was the inspiration for a violent pro-Trump riot at the Washington Capitol building earlier this month — has tapped the chill alt-pop group to perform their hit "You Get What You Give" at the "Parade Across America."
"If there's one thing on Earth that would possibly make us get the band together, if only for a day, it is the hope that our song could be even the tiniest beacon of light in such a dark time," New Radicals frontman Gregg Alexander said.
The song had previously been used as Kamala Harris's walk-on song and was also important to Joe Biden's late son Beau. He had previously written about the tune in his memoir Promise Me, Dad.
