Watch Courtney Love Cover Britney Spears' "Lucky"
Hear her pledge allegiance to the official #FreeBritney anthem
Published Jul 05, 2021Courtney Love has been outspoken about a lot lately (including Olivia Rodrigo supposedly copying Hole's Live Through This album artwork), the best instance of which being her support for Britney Spears amidst the pop star's ongoing conservatorship battle.
Love took to Instagram on Saturday night (July 3) to post a video of her rendition of Spears' Oops!… I Did It Again cut "Lucky." The Hole singer shared an edgy, acoustic take on the song about the pitfalls of fame while debuting new pink hair.

Last month, Spears spoke out for the first time about the "abusive" conservatorship arrangement, which was put in place in 2008. She alleged that under her father's control, she has been forced to take Lithium, wears an intrauterine contraceptive device, and is not allowed to make her own doctor's appointments, all of which has affected her mental health.
Multiple celebrity pals have come forward in support of Spears, including Christina Aguilera and her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. Despite massive outcry from Spears, her fans, friends and counsel, a California judge ruled against her request to have her father Jamie Spears removed from his controlling position in her conservatorship last week.
In relation to Spears' legal battle, Love has also been outspoken in her support, appearing in the New Yorker's investigation into the case — published over the weekend by Ronan Farrow and Jia Tolentino — due to her history with Hollywood manipulator Sam Lutfi, whom she described as a "street hustler." Lutfi is Spears' ex-manager and currently subject to a five-year restraining order filed by a conservatorship lawyer on her behalf.
